Biography
Philip Casey joined NCICS in 2025 as a Climate Data Analyst. His work at NCICS focuses on applications of satellite data using statistics and machine learning techniques to advance climate monitoring and analysis.
Philip holds a Master's degree in Statistics from the University of Maryland, where he specialized in statistical interpolation methods and satellite data applications. Before joining NCICS, he worked with NOAA's Joint Polar Satellite System, applying machine learning techniques to trace gas retrievals. He also contributed to NASA DEVELOP projects, including ecological assessments in Maine and flood analysis in Mexico. Philip earned his BS in Biology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
