Biography

April Lamb joined NCICS in 2022 as a Scientific Technical Editor with the Assessments Technical Support Unit (TSU). In January 2024, she transitioned to a position as the Scientific Graphics Quality Coordinator for the TSU.

April currently provides graphics and data support for multiple assessments, including the Sixth National Climate Assessment (NCA6), the National Nature Assessment, and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III contribution to the Seventh Assessment Report. She also serves as the WGIII representative for the IPCC Task Group on Data Support for Climate Change Assessments (TG-Data) and is the Chapter Lead of the Information Quality Appendix for NCA6.

April has nearly a decade of experience designing high-quality graphics and data visualizations for manuscripts, reports, articles, and assessments. In 2024, she was awarded the NC State Pride of the Wolfpack Award for her contributions to the Fifth National Climate Assessment (NCA5).

Prior to joining NCICS, April worked as a researcher on topics surrounding ecological resilience and biodiversity loss in coastal and marine ecosystems. She is a former NSF graduate research fellow and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, a GIS certificate, and a Masters degree in Biology from NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
