POSTER DISPLAY

Posters will be displayed on 4’ x 8’ horizontal poster boards double -sided Velcro covered panels. The bottom edge is usually three feet above the floor. The top edge is approximately seven feet above the floor. You can mount your poster with pushpins (CICS will provide), or Velcro fasteners

Many of our authors find that printing a large format poster is now the most convenient way to organize their presentation. Several national companies offer this service. We suggest that you visit Kinko’s or similar printing companies for instructions on sending files for large format printing. There may also be a local print shop in your area that offers this service. Please check the telephone Yellow Pages for additional printing companies. An advantage of using a national company is that you can have the poster printed for you and waiting for pickup at the meeting site. You won’t have to carry the poster on the plane.

ORAL PRESENTATION INFORMATION

Oral presentations will be scheduled on day two of the Symposium. Powerpoint presentations (and a pdf of the presentation) must be emailed to jennifer@ncics.org by 12 August 2011. If the file size exceeds 5 MB, please submit via a FTP site. NCEI has strict IT screening that requires us to have each presentation screened before it can be uploaded to a NOAA computer. Personal computers are not permitted to be connected to NOAA a/v equipment, nor are personal flash drives permitted to be used with NOAA computers.

Please refer to the program for your presentation date and time. Each author has 15 minutes for their presentation. With approximately 12 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions and answers. Plenary speakers are given 20 minutes for their presentation, inclusive of 5 minutes for questions and answers.

Presentation will be preloaded on a PC computer equipped with Microsoft Office. There is a wireless microphone and a podium microphone, display screen, and electronic timer.
