NASA DEVELOP Students Visit NCEI

Background

The NASA DEVELOP Program at Wise, Virginia focuses on environmental research conducted through the use of NASA Earth Observation Systems, NOAA and USGS satellite data and information, and international remote sensing satellites. The DEVELOP program offers internship positions to students involved in all branches of Earth science research and applications. The Wise, Virginia DEVELOP Program has the privilege of working with international students, and the projects centered at this campus focus on international as well as domestic projects and challenges. This Thursday, the current Wise teams will present their research and application projects being conducted in the countries of Rwanda, Mexico, and the United States. The topics covered in these presentations include:

  • Flood Risk Mapping in the Coahuila District of Mexico
  • Air Quality in Virginia, Comparison of Coal Burning Technologies
  • Ecological Forecasting and Agriculture in Rwanda
