Biography
Ryan Cox joined the NCICS Assessments team as a Full Stack Web Developer in 2023. Just prior to joining NCICS, Ryan served as a Software Engineer for Tackle.io, building B2B SaaS software on serverless cloud infrastructure. Ryan spec’d and built software solutions throughout Tackle’s distributed ecosystem including reactive user interfaces, GraphQL middleware, API endpoints, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
Mr. Cox worked at the CATT Lab (The Center For Advanced Transportation Technology) from 2018 to 2021, building BigData visualization apps to query and analyze transportation datasets for DOT decision-makers. He has also served as a Data Pipeline Engineer, building out data lakes and a data warehouse to ensure all message-oriented transactions were saved and queryable.
Additionally, Mr. Cox worked at NOAA from 2013 to 2018 as contractor on the ingest pipeline and scientific algorithms. Before that, he built and configured CMS solutions for clients in the private sector.
Prior to his software career, Mr. Cox served as the Head of Service at Moog Music, repairing and calibrating electronic musical instruments and coordinating with service centers all over the world. He also served as president of Asheville Toastmasters, North Carolina’s oldest surviving Toastmaster club. He believes that clear communication is essential in the technology fiedl and that software should work for the end user as simply as possible.
Mr. Cox holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Asheville, with majors in Computer Science and Music Technology.
