Biography

Yashasya joined NCICS as a Summer Intern in June 2023 and continued working with us in the Fall and Spring semesters. During his time as an intern, he worked on the reconstruction of the GHCN pipeline, where he developed an event-driven data flow pipeline using Python and AWS, which helped reduce the size of the data and increase the processing speed. He also worked on creating the backend for the NODD Metric. He recently joined NCICS full-time as a Climate Data Analyst in May 2024. Since joining, he has continued working on the NODD Metric app and has also started working on fixing the ARC nClimGrid Pipeline.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Gujarat Technological University in India, followed by a master’s degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University. Yashasya has honed a diverse skill set, including proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, and cloud technologies like AWS and Azure. Prior to NCICS, Yashasya contributed to research at North Carolina State University, focusing on quality control techniques for crowd labeling and uncertainty analysis in program parameters. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, swimming, playing cricket, and exploring new technologies.
